Preparing yourself for Civilization 5

If you never played Civ 4, or you’re missing any of the expansions, Direct2Drive is having a ridiculous sale, which includes the Civ 4 Complete edition here. Might be the best $10 you spent all year if you enjoy strategy gaming.

That is one hell of a sweet deal, thanks for the tip!

I take it back – this is actually a “foreigners get fucked” sale, and thus completely useless to me. :-(

I picked this up last Thursday. The activation code they provided me doesn’t work, and the Direct2Drive crew provides a special blend of support composed of incompetent responses at a glacial pace, so I still haven’t been able to get an unlock code from them.

I’m sure that they’ll eventually get around to letting me play the game I bought from them, and at that point it’ll be a sweet deal. I don’t think I’d buy from them though if they weren’t significantly undercutting the competition.

This was my first purchase from D2D and had no problems myself. I entered the codes all lower case, and using the dashes (for ex. fg4b-er7y…), and anything that looked like the letter O is a zero. All 3 expansions and main game installed without a hitch.

They got back to me on Sunday night and resolved the issue. Definitely worth the hassle to save 20$.

    That’s too bad…
Error: Civilization 4: The Complete Edition is Country restricted on your IP.

Makes me a sad panda :(
