Fallout 76: Bethesda is going to address the issues

I found this post very encouraging and informative about the F76 beta and what Bethasda is going to do with the game prior to launch. Its a bit long so let me save you some time and give you a TLDR:

“Go F yourself, we don’t care” – Love, Bethesda

Ultrawide support is ‘coming’, they believe everyone’s dogs and babies should be heard via voice-chat, and all your other issues and problems don’t matter, just shut up and give us money.

Sad thing is they will get a ton of money anyway.

Why Bethesda (highlight that the world is alive with real people) is trying to become EA (sense of pride and accomplishment) or Blizzard (you have a phone), I don’t know, but I don’t like it.

I’ve been hyped for Fallout 76 since its announcement back at E3. It comes out on my birthday to boot, so I thought I’d be one of the people that got in on day one. Having read things about the lack of Ultra wide support and it being a buggy mess makes me think I might wait a bit to see if things get ironed out. I played Fallout 4 on day one and didn’t have any issues, so I believe they can get it sorted, but I don’t know that I want to chance buying it on day one. I hate it when something that sounds so good ends up being kind of lame (I’m looking at you No Man’s Sky).

If you preordered (which you could then cancel), you could have seen it for yourself the past week or so. That’s what I did.

Although there are certainly a lot of very questionable design decisions, I did not experience anything close to a buggy experience in the PC beta. I do feel though, that this game will be one of those No Man’s Sky situations in which the game will be much better 6-12 months from now. Which will be nice for those people able to wait for it.

I’m not one of those people. I’ll be playing some more in the beta tonight, and probably all next week once it comes out (assuming the servers don’t catch fire).

Seems like they caved on PTT at least, but yeah, it all sounds a bit dire.

“Our goal with voice chat being on by default is to highlight that the world is alive with real people, other players like you.”
Yeah, can’t get no immersion without some heated mother/child argument about some homework, no wasteland completed without nonstop chatter about some justin bieber or new dr. Who episode.

I am kinda surprised you don’t think bethesda (horsearmor, fallout 4 voice options) isn’t there yet.

I think both bethesda and blizzard still sometimes have decent points, but also tend to be both very tonedeaf.

    EA is beyond all hope.

I remember the horse armor (that was Oblivion right? Ahead of their time on that one, just terrible execution), but what was the F4 voice thing?
