The good news: The computer has shipped.
The bad news: FedEx expects it to arrive Monday.
Anyone work for FedEx that wants to do me a favor and bump the shipment to deliver on Friday instead? That would be nice, thanks.

You should call and ask. I have had good luck in the past. Sometimes you can cut it off halfway (ie pick it up at the depot) and cut off a day of “delivery”
I still get to look down my nose at you since you bought rather than built. :)
You play WoW on a Mac.
sheeeeeeit
Can someone please shoot the person who calls themselves a gamer and uses a Mac
He calls himself a noob, not a gamer.
No, other people in my house play WoW on an iMac. The iMac makes the sysadmin role I play at home much easier. It is an appliance and never a problem.
I play WoW on a i7 box I built myself. And maybe a couple of other games.
As for Mr. Anonymous below, snobbery and anonymity makes a strange combo. Proud enough to bash the Mac, but not so proud as to even bother with a fake identity. *golf clap*
Okay, make that Mr. Anonymous above. I hate these nested replies.
Isn’t that the way it always is? Hope to get it on Friday but the delivery gods see to it you have to wait the weekend and get it Monday.
So what will be the first game you install on your new machine when it arrives? Time was when it was almost obligatory to install the very latest first person shooter with settings cranked up to the max just to show off your new hardware.
I’m not sure what will be first, but in no order: BC2, Civ V, Darkfall, LoL, M&B:W, and Rift for now. I don’t doubt the machine will be able to run BC2 maxed out (my current rig can basically do it already).
I am curious to see how DF runs during a massive siege, and how high I can crank up the battle size in M&B:W. Hoping the machine can run Rift on Ultra even during invasions.
All fun stuff.
I hate to be THAT dickhead but RIFT on Ultra really pretty except for certain views. You certainly won’t notice the difference during invasions unless you were playing on low.
isn’t really pretty* even
Oh I thought there was a massive difference between Ultra and Mid-High setting (depending on some other individual settings). The texture quality+distance was dramatic, as were some of the shadow/particle effects.
I’m a graphics whore though, so…
