Back when it was released, I assumed we would be getting tons of XCOM Enemy Unknown DLC as the months went on. More missions, more weapons, more maps, etc. We got a few piddly additions (3 mission arc, really?), and then nothing.
Now I see this, which I don’t think is directly related, but um… sorta looks like it is? Get your action out of my strategy please!
Pretty frustrating when you want to give someone money, but they just won’t take it.
Seriously. I find myself checking for updates on that every month even now. The game was great and it seems like they dont even know when they have a golden goose. This makes my MBA cry. Why do 90% of gaming companies have absolutely zero business acumen?
I should start sending my resume
I’d prefer a sequel and zero DLC. I don’t think I’ll ever be fully on board with DLC, just too set in my ways.
A full featured expansion pack is another story.
The DLC/expansions for Civ V have been all around awesome IMO, and I was expecting something similar for XCOM.
Pretty much like F2P, it all comes down to how the DLC is done for me.
I think The Bureau looks good…

This. Whenever there’s a really great game I can really grok, I swear it’s immediately abandoned, no matter how successful it was. And it was made on a limited budget, buggy and tempermental… But it was _awesome_.
More DLC, or an expansion, or sequel, I don’t care. Just give me moar XCOM love.
Sure, The Bureau may look good, but it’s an entirely different game and outside of “the IP” is completely unrelated.
The Bereau (1960’s based squad shooter with XCOM’s name tied onto it) was kicking around before XCOM: Enemy Unknown was developed. I thought it was dead. I’d hoped it was dead.
So yeah there’s probably licencing issues involved.
Not sure if this could brighten your day? :)

Hmmm yes it does. We’ll have to see exactly what it is, but at least the game is not abandoned.
