To say Pillars of Eternity 2 is the best game of the year is a gross understatement. The conversation should be whether its the single greatest piece of entertainment ever produced, and you’d have a really hard time convincing me the answer is ‘no’. Buy a copy of each edition, at least once if not more.
PS: Darkfall money is running dangerously close to being under 7 figures in the bank right now so I need to pimp out PoE2 to get some of that sweet sweet Fig money. But shhh, just shut it and keep buying more copies.
I am so confused by this post. I’m unsure if PIllars 2 is actually good, or if you’re running out of money to play Darkfall or what. :(
Something about having to explain a joke…. but here goes.
Back when Darkfall came out, they had an affiliate program that I was part of, where if you bought it using my link that I had in the top-right corner of this blog, I got money. Tobold accused me of selling out for doing this, which was comical because promoting DF wasn’t about the money for me personally, but there was self-interesting in the game being successful so it would get updated and have more people playing it (which, because back then this blog was kind-of-a-big-deal, it did significantly help).
For PoE2, I bought shares of the game via Fig, so for every copy sold, I get money. Unlike DF, which was a few thousand bucks ultimately, this venture with PoE2 has the potential to be a good bit more, assuming it sells.
Thank you for the context. I was ultimately confused because I thought you weren’t darkfalling anymore, and the original DF is deaders. :/
There’s not enough exclamation points for me to make a rational decision on purchasing this product. Does it have a Battle Royale mode at least?
One can only assume that in a few months there will be a BR mode tacked on, and then said tacked-on mode will become the actual game, no doubt.
Huh. Never heard of Fig before, and I’m looking at the figures and it seems like pretty easy money, depending on the title. The first Pillars game sold ~700k, so if the sequel matches that amount, that’s like a 20% return, right? Not bad at all.
Yea unless PoE2 completely bombs and goes way below PoE1, there should be a return. We will see what the % is, because things trail off (if I understand it correctly) after a certain sales threshold.
I’m also very curious to see what happens once the game has been out for a while, and something like a Steam sale happens with the game featured at a discount.
I enjoyed PoE a lot, so I’ve been looking forward to PoE2… but not following it so much that I knew when it was coming out. I’ll have to fix that….
