Glitch was EVE without PvP?

Glitch is closing. I’ve never played the game, nor looked into it enough to really have an opinion, but if this is true:

The game IMO is a 2D Eve without the PVP – instead of star systems you have streets, streetsigns instead of warp gates, real time training of skills, huge emphasis on crafting, etc.

what does that tell you about not including PvP?

Also Darkfall.

Hm, I played it a bit in beta and while there were skill queues and lots of crafting, it didn’t have a full economy or areas you could carve out and own with your guild. It was more of a Facebook game gone large imo.

The thought of EVE as a Facebook game is sort of trippy.

I played it for a while when I got a beta invite. Essentially it is EVE without the combat mechanics. The interesting part was that the streets beyond the ones the game launched with were essentially built by players. Or at least that was the gist of it.

So you would have played Glitch if it had PVP? Yeah, me neither.

For me it was the art design that kept me away. Just looked boring.

Glitch is one of a tiny number of games that really creeped me out to the point I felt like having a shower after I played it. I played in beta a few times until I decided there was just something fundamentally *wrong* with it.

I don’t think it’s failure has anything to do with lack of PvP – more to do with being completely off-putting to all but a tiny clique.

I didn’t enjoy the game at all. PvP was completely irrelevant in that.
